Have You Thought About Caregiving as a Profession?
Has the time and cost of becoming a Certified Nurses Aid (CNA) held you back? ‘Ohana Health Plan has generously provided funding for scholarships to individuals who want to seek professional certification in caregiving.
You will learn in a fast-paced, skill-based program conducted by the Advance Care Training schools. The classes are in the evenings with some session held on weekends. In a matter of weeks, you can be ready to take your State exam for licensing as a Certified Nurses Aid.
Are you able to:
Demonstrate an ability to converse in English and at least one or the following languages (note – there will be limits on each language category)
Japanese Cantonese Mandarin Laotian Vietnamese Ilocano Visian Tagalog French German Spanish Chukese
- commit to providing in-home (not facility) care for a minimum of 2 years
- be authorized to be able to work in the USA
- have a clean criminal background history
- have funds to pay for the State of Hawaii CNA exam
By encouraging and enabling new caregivers with these abilities to enter the workforce, ‘Ohana Health Plan is helping meet the needs of individuals needing care who are not able to comfortably communicate in their preferred language. Perhaps you have already cared for a loved one, given up much of your life doing so, and now have a desire to take the experience you have and couple it with professional training for the benefit of others in our communities.
