Supporting Youth Caregivers Impacted by the Maui Wildfires

Thanks to the hard work of youth advocates at the American Association of Caregiving Youth, The Caregiver Foundation is glad to offer financial assistance to youth caregivers impacted by the 2023 wildfires on Maui.

Who Is Eligible?

Young people 22 years of age and younger who self-identify as caregivers and who were impacted by the Maui Wildfires are encouraged to apply. Youth under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian. Awards of $500 will be distributed to eligible applicants.

How Do I Apply?

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Funds are limited and subject to availability. Applicants will be asked to provide their contact information and details about their caregiving situation. Caregiving youth under the age of 18 will need the consent of a parent or guardian for their application.

What are the responsibilities of recipients?

Recipients must agree to spend funds in accordance with their proposed plans. They also agree to provide a report on how the funds were used and how the funds impacted them (about 3 to 6 months after receiving funds).
